Jammu, Feb 9: Scores of people took to the streets on Tuesday to stop a joint team of police and JDA from carrying out an anti-encroachment drive at Gole Gujral here.
Reports said a joint team of JDA and police reached at the Gole Gujral to clear the piece of land allegedly encroached by some persons.
The protestors led by two persons Blawant Rai and Bimla Devi, claimed that they own 16 kanal of land each. They termed the JDA drive as trespassing.
Meanwhile, the JDA officer when contacted said that , following the complaints the JDA plots have been encroached upon, a drive was launched. He said that the same drive would continue till the encroached land is cleared. |
