Early Times Report
udhampur, Apr 30: J&K General Line Teachers Forum (JKGLTF) held its meeting here today under the chairmanship of General secretary Rakesh Singh and president Vivek Gupta in which members flayed the transfer policy for Rehber-e Taleem (ReT) teachers as they are engaged on basis of limited competition from among their locality and their engagement is school specific.
Speaking in this meeting Singh said that it is ridiculous that ReT teachers are demanding transfer policy for female teachers on marriage grounds even if there is no provision of any such ground in Civil Service rules and if females in police, medical and other departments can do service in far flung areas then what is the problem with the females working as ReT.
Singh asked an open question to Ret teachers that if they are engaged on basis of village basis near their residence by providing residence proof then on what ground and what basis they are demanding transfer. Singh warned the state govt not to initiate any move to frame the transfer policy for ReT teachers otherwise JKGLTF launch a state wide protest against the state govt for this ill advised move as transfer of RET teachers is against the humanity and principle of natural justice as it would adversely affect the study of 16 lakh govt school students for whose welfare SSA scheme had launched.
Singh also demanded to verify credential of ReT especially about their proof of residence whether they are actual residence of particular village/area or not. Singh lambasted the previous coalition of NC- Congress which for the sake of vote bank violated all the norms of Sarav Shiksha Abyiyan (SSA) Scheme. Singh said that nature of creation of post of SSA and SSRB is totally different and even the mechanism of salary distribution for both these posts are different then it is not possible to transfer ReT teachers against SSRB posts. Singh demanded from the education minister that in the interest of student community immediately seeks data of ReT teachers who are transferred against SSRB teachers post and cancel their transfer by reverting them to their original place of engagement and implement govt order no 111 of education.
Ravinder Gupta, Sohan Lal, Jatinder Singh, Ajeet Gupta,, Narinder Raina, Satish, Vinod, Pardeep Gupta and Mohinder Pal also spoke in this meeting.
