Early Times Report JAMMU, May 11: A tehsildar, a naib-tehsildar, a girdawar, a patwari and some land grabbers have been booked by the vigilance organisation, Jammu, in a fraud and corruption case. All of them are alleged to have prepared fake revenue papers of 9 kanals 5 marlas of land of a woman at Samba and then sold it to two other persons fraudulently. VOJ dug into the case after special judge, anti-corruption, Jammu, sent it a complaint which was lodged with it by one Meena Anand, wife of Sunil Anand of ward No 5/7, Samba, alleging therein that one Gulab Singh, son of Phulla Singh of Nanak Nagar, through his attorney holder Sardari Lal, and in connivance with Yudhvir Singh, then patwari halqa Nanak Chack and a resident of Tarlokpur, Samba, girdawar Ram Dass Sharma, then naib-tehsildar, Samba (rural), Nazir Ahmad and then Samba tehsildar Pawan Kumar had deprived her of her land. She alleged that the land had been fraudulently sold by Gulab Singh to Raj Kumar, son of Ram Krishan of Meerth, Samba, and Jugal Kishore, son of Om Parkash of Rasoo near Hatli in Kathua. VOJ verification revealed that Yudhvir had prepared fictitious revenue papers and issued fard intikhab, nakal khasra girdawari and tatima shajra of 6 kanals 3 marlas of land falling under khasra No 291, 2 kanals 11 marlas of land falling under khasra No 145 and 11 marlas of land falling under khasra No 148 at Chack Nanaka to Gulab Singh showing it in his name. The land, however, actually belonged to Meena Anand, VOJ sources said. The fictitious revenue papers were prepared by the patwari, endorsed by the girdawar and the naib-tehsildar and countersigned by the tehsildar, sources said, alleging that on the basis of the fake fard intikhab, Gulab Singh, through his attorney holder, sold the land to Raj Kumar and Jugal Kishore through two different sale deeds. VOJ has booked the revenue officials and the beneficiaries under section 5(1) (d) read with section 5(2) of J&K P C Act and sections 467, 468, 470, 471 and 120-B of RPC.
