08 bovine smugglers held, 79 animals rescued | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 14: in a major success to curb bovine smuggling in district, the police today foiled a major bovine smuggling bids with the arrest of eight bovine smugglers and seizure of four vehicles besides rescuing 79 animals during a naka cheking at Nagrota. Nagrota police claimed to have foiled two bovine smuggling bids and rescued seventy nine bovine animals from their possession here today. "The accused have been identified as Raiz Ahmed s/o Gh Mohd of Qazikund, Ali Mohd s/o Illam Din of Verinag, Muneer Ahmed s/o Shamas Din of Ramban, Javed Ahmed s/o Gh Mohd Dhangri of Kokernag , Mohd Khaliq s/o Gh Mohd of Miran Sahib, Shah Nawaz s/o Mohd Yousaf of Kokernag, Mohd Abbas s/o Abdul Latif of Banihal and Farooq Ahmed s/o Ghulam Hussain of Batote, police said. Police spokesperson said, "Besides, arresting the accused, police also have seized four trucks bearing registration numbers JK19-3014, JK03D-3107, JK02AD-1977 and PB11N-6232 used for carrying bovine animals." The catch was made from Ban Toll Palza, NHW and TCP Nagrota in two separate incidents by a police team led by SHO Nagrota Karan Chalotra and SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bushan Sharma. Meanwhile two cases under FIRs 109/2016 u/s 188 RPC & 3/5 PCA Act and 110/2016 u/s 188, 353,323 RPC& 3/5 PCA Act stand registered and investigation of the case is going on. |
