Geealni's Hurriyat to participate in sham PoK polls

Early Times Report

Srinagar, May 14: Separatist group led by Syed Ali Shah Geelani is all set to participate in upcoming sham elections being held in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).
A local news gathering agency has claimed that the group led by imprisoned separatist leader Masrat Aaalam has decided to formally join the electoral politics.
News report published by various local newspapers claimed that Muslim League (N) has agreed to give ticket to a senior Kashmiri leader's wife for contesting the elections.
Leader, whom the news report, a copy of which lies with Early Times, has identified as Ishtiyaq Hameed is a resident of Anantnag.
Ishtiyaq is representing the Masrat Aaalam's Muslim League in PoK. Across the LoC, Masrat's Muslim League is a constituent of All Parties Hurriyat Conference led by Geelani.
"Begam Naseem Wani, wife of Ishtiyaq Hameed, has sought ticket from Muslim League (N) for contesting elections from Halqa Wadi-5, Kashmiri refuges assembly segment," reads the report.
It has questioned the integrity of separatist group for seeking a ticket as earlier on several occasions it had rejected Nawaz Sharief's Pakistan-Kashmir policy.
Ishtiyaq, a resident of Anchidora, Anantnag, owns two luxurious residential buildings in Rawalkoot and runs diamond business in Pakistan. His wife Naseem is reportedly a government employee and her forefathers are also from Verinag, Anantnag.
The news report further reveals shocking details. It says, while innocent and poor Kashmiris are being misguided and forced to pick up guns against Indian army, self styled leaders are making fortunes out of it.
"In past, Hurriyat leaders like Ghulam Mohmmad Safi, Ghulam Nabi Nowsherie, Yousuf Naseem and others have not only made their wards doctors but have amassed huge wealth," it alleges.
It alleges that Liberation Front leader Altaf Qadri, Shabir Shah's representative Advocate Irshad Malik and Asiya Indrabi's borther Dr Inyatullah Indrabi moved to America and are busy with top level business including in business of diamonds.
