Early Times Report Jammu, May 14: The Chief Education Officer of Kathua today issued advisory to the teachers, directing them not to wear stylish outfits, follow dress code and also keep their mobile phones switched off during school hours."A teacher has to be an inspiration for the students and he/she needs to follow proper dress code in the school," Balbir Singh, CEO Kathua here told UNI. "A circular has been issued to all the institution heads, advising teachers to be dressed in a manner 'appropriate to their profession'," he added. The CEO observed that teachers dressed in jeans, T-shirts, eight-pocket or four-pocket pants and flip-flops, which do not look professional and hence, were advised to wear proper dresses."Wearing of glamorous dresses by teachers hamper students concentration and teachers wearing glittering dresses would definitely influence the minds of adolescent students," said the CEO. He, however, also said that headmasters have been asked to ensure that teachers do not carry mobile phones into the classrooms."In a 50-minute class, teachers most of the time remain busy on their mobile phones, which is not professional," he said.Mr Singh also rued that teachers were busy using social sites during school timings and asked them to keep their cellphones either switched off or on silent mode. |
