PDP Mahila Wing assures help to womenfolk | | | Early Times Report
KATHUA, Oct 14: Mahila wing president of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Vijaya Dogra today asked women folk to take benefit of the various developmental schemes being launched by the coalition government headed by Mehbooba Mufti. She said that coalition government has launched many schemes for the socio-economic growth of females. Dogra was speaking in two meeting one held at Mahreen area of Hiranagar and second at Kathua in which large number of women and other persons participated. Addressing these meeting, Vijaya Dogra said agenda of the coalition government headed by Mehbooba Mufti was to ensure equitable and balanced development of the State. She said that this regime was committed to provide equal opportunities of growth and betterment. She, however, said that women and marginalized sections of the society were on the top of the agenda of the state government. She informed the women about schemes like Ladli Beti and Asara launched by the PDP led coalition government. She maintained that such historic schemes will go a long way in changing perception of the society towards the girl child. She said that there was dire need to educate the masses about these revolutionary schemes so that deserve lot will take benefit of such schemes. She further pointed out that such schemes were going to address the concerns of girl's right from birth to adulthood by providing financial security to them. Under the Ladli Beti scheme state government will contribute Rs 1,000 per month towards the birth of every girl child born after April 1, 2015 for the next 14 years. Upon reaching the age of 21, the girl child would receive a sum of Rs 6.5 lakh. |
