JAMMU, Oct 14: Due to the unwarranted interference of his senior, a DSP, in a disputed land case, the SHO of the police station, where the case is registered, has proceeded on leave. "The DSP, who is posted in Jammu district, has accepted a huge amount of money as bribe from one of the parties involved in the dispute and is now helping it out of the way," police sources alleged, claiming that the money was taken by him through his 'karyakhaas', an SPO, even as a court had decided the matter in the favour of other party. While the SHO intended to implement the court order, the DSP did not let him perform his lawful duty, sources alleged. Sources said after the court decided the matter in favour of one of the parties, it immediately started construction activity on the land. The DSP, who had by then allegedly been bribed by the other party, made up his mind to stop the work. At his instance, his party went to the land late at night and demolished all the new construction. The watchman was also given a sound beating, sources alleged. Left with no other alternative, the party again moved the court which directed SSP, Jammu, to implement the court order, sources claimed. Sources alleged that the DSP had so far minted a huge amount of money through his 'karyakhaas' in the disputed land deals in his jurisdiction. The SHO proceeded on leave so that he was not held guilty of not implementing the court order, sources said. |
