2 days long DFP Awareness Campaign concluded

RAMBAN, Oct 14: A two day Awareness Campaign organized by the Directorate of Field Publicity(DFP) under the aegis of the Union Ministry of the Information & Broadcasting concluded at the Government Higher Secondary School, Batote today. In the campaign held under the stewardship of Deputy Director, DFP,
Jammu,Neha Jalali the residents including the local students besides the ASHA and Anganwadi workers were educated on the central government sponsored Health & Family Welfare Schemes under the Reproductive Maternal Newborn Child Health Adolescent (RMNCHA) programme with special focus on Mission Indradhanush;Population,Population Stabilisatioin; Beti Bachao Beti Padhao(BBBP) and Anaemia among the Adolescent girls. The awareness programme and a students' quiz contest on these
programmes ,a medical camp was also organised in assistance with the doctors of the Sher-e-Kashmir Memorial Hospital(SKMEH),Batote under the supervision of its Block Medical Officer, Dr.Shakil Ahmed Sumbria. A Healthy Baby Show for below 5 year age and an educational cultural programme on the relevant themes was also organised yesterday.Nagina Jilani,Supervisor, ICDS,Batote and a student Akriti Sharma recited an Urdu poem and a speech on the importance of girl child respectively.
The programme had begun with a rally of about 500 students of Batote through the Batote bazaar wherein they carried the placards and posters inscribed with the slogans on these relevant programmes.It was flagged off by the Naib-Tehsildar, Batote, Saifullah Shah. On the concluding day today,Dr. Kuldip Raj ,Dr.Adil Irshad, Dr.SA Sumbria(all of SKMEH), Dr.Majid Bhat of RMNCH, Ramban, Lekhraj Goswami, Headmaster, Government Girls High School and Saifullah Shah,Naib-Tehsildar,Batote spoke as Resource Persons on the relevant topics. Baby Munira,Retika Salaria, Ashtmi and Navpreet Kour were awarded as the winners of the Baby Show contest. Ram Sharma and Ajay Sharma of Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Batote besides Nazia Akhter and Irtika Rafika of the Government Girls High School, Batote were awarded as the winners of the quiz contest. Gurnam Singh,Vikram Uppal-Incharge DFP,Jammu and Rajouri respectively and Jagjit Singh, Incharge, Principal, GHSS, Batote also contributed conspicuously in the programme.
