Jammu, Oct 14: Appreciating Union Cabinet for giving nod to IIM in Jammu region, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali has said that Rajouri is middle place of Kashmir & Jammu region so IIM must be opened at the middle place. Issuing statement, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali welcomed approval of IIM for Jammu by Union Cabinet held under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday evening which was announced by the Union Government in Prime Ministers Development Package last year in November. The Minister said that the IIM is not meant for Jammu city but Union Government has approved the same for whole province which is comprised of 10 districts viz Jammu, Samba, Rajouri, Poonch, Udhampur, Kathua, Reasi, Ramban, Doda and Kishtwar. Projecting Rajouri as best place for IIM, Chowdhary Zulfkar Ali said that Rajouri remained focus of attraction in past during Mughals, Sikhs and Dogra rule but after partition, the area could not get due justice due to one or the other reasons. He said that the people of the area remained neglected in all respects but now people are having faith on present dispensation for justice to all. He said that Rajouri is middle place of Kashmir and Jammu region and the IIM should be opened at Rajouri to benefit both the people of Kashmir and Jammu region. He said that there will be no issue on the opening of IIM at Rajouri and neither people from Kashmir will object it nor people of Jammu have any problem to Rajouri area. |
