Early Times Report
JAMMU, Dec 8: Misusing his official position, a top bureaucrat, from Jammu division has allegedly constructed a complex, clandestinely on the name of his brother and mother, here in brazen violation of the Master plan.
According to sources, the bureaucrat in league with his brother, a property dealer, has constructed a huge complex in city's commercial hub allegedly in utter violation of Master Plan and other laws.
Some local residents had approached the State Vigilance Commission for action against the "illegal construction", but to no avail, sources claimed .
They said the SVC sent a team of Vigilance Organization to the site and the investigation carried out by the team indicated that it is fit case for FIR. "But the commission has turned a blind eye towards the issue," sources alleged.
"Two different drawings approved in violation of norms have been merged and a one big structure having one basement, ground floor and three more floors have been raised", alleged sources, adding that there is no space for parking reserved in the complex which is located in a very congested area.
This high profile family used its influence with the department concerned, which turned a blind eye towards it, thereby facilitating the construction illegally, sources alleged.
"It seems the officer who is sitting at a powerful chair has been successful in stalling the Vigilance investigation," they alleged. Two different permissions which were illegally given were in the name of mother and brother of the babu, sources alleged.
