Despite several schemes, Govt school functions under open sky | | | Rajesh Tandon Early Times Report Poonch, July 18: In the year 2012 a primary school was opened at mohalla Khokhran Kulani of zone Sathra in a rented room. Even after completion of six academic years, it is still waiting for the basic infrastructure as till today the concerned authorities have failed to construct the school building and children have to sit in open to attend classes. On the hind side of the assurances of prioritizing education both by the union and the state governments, the children are impelled to study under the open sky. The school is functioning in a single room which is in a very miserable condition, used as class room, office as well as kitchen. The condition of this room is so miserable that during rains, water comes directly in the room. This room was initially damaged due to earthquake in the year 2006 and now due to blasting work on tunnel which is going on exactly under this home where the room is rented for school. At a time, when tens of schools have been started to improve the infrastructure and amenities in the existing school, this school presents the picture of official and administrative apathy towards the education sector. |
