Udhampur, Nov 19:- BJP Councilor Dr Yogeshwar Gupta became Chairman while, BJP Councilor Surinder Singh Khalsa became Deputy Chairman of Municipal Council in Udhampur.
The suspense over the post of Chairman as well as Deputy Chairman of Udhampur Municipal Council ended today, when BJP municipal councilor Dr. Yogeshwar Gupta elder Brother of MLA udhampur Pawan Gupta gots 11 Votes out of 21 and was elected the new President. Meanwhile Surinder Singh Khalsa was elected as Deputy Chairman of Municipal council Udhampur .
The suspense over the Post of Chairman as well as Deputy Chairman continued ever since the result was declared as no one could get the magic Number 11 , but today after the 21 councilors of udhampur voted for the Post of Chairman and Deputy Chairman at Municipal Council office Udhampur
The election for the new chief and deputy chief of the local civic body was held under the supervision of ACR Sonu Pargal , for which tight security arrangements were made. Only councilors were allowed to enter the hall during the elections where all 21 councilors were present .
Huge celebrations broke out after the results were declared. Former Deputy Chief Minister Kavinder Gupta as well as Pawan Gupta MLA udhampur were Present. They danced on the Beats of Drums to Celebrate the Victory.
