Doctors observe one hour pen down strike over `misbehavior' by DC Kishtwar

Kishtwar, Dec 21: The controversy involving the rude behavior of the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar with general public, subordinates and officials of various departments is increasing with each passing day and in this latest series of such incidents, the doctors at District Hospital Kishtwar are up in arms against DC Kishtwar over his alleged misbehavior with Dr Sham Lal Sokolia (Radiologist) during an official meeting yesterday.
As per the details available with "Early Times" all the doctors and subordinate staff posted at District Hospital observed one hour pen down strike to show its resentment against DC Angez Singh Rana's abusive and offensive behavior and called upon the government to act against DC before they go on full-fledged strike in case of in action on part of the government.
"We don't want that patients will suffer-- So today we are resuming our duties after one hour pen down strike" said Doctors at District Hospital added that "let us first wait for reaction from the government-only then we will decide the further course of action".
The doctors inform the "Early Times" that CMO was out of station in connection with some official work while being as senior most among the doctors, he assigned the job to Dr Sham Lal till he resume duty in a day or two added that DC in the meantime called some official meeting which was attended by Dr Sham Lal in absence of CMO.
They said that during the course of the meeting, DC like on several counts in past lose his cool and misbehaved with the doctor. They said that DC also order for withholding of the salaries of Dr. Sham Lal and when the doctor presented his view point that he was only holding the charge in absence of the CMO and ordering for withholding of his salaries doesn't arise since he (Dr Sham Lal) was not at fault which further angered DC as a result of which Dr Sham Lal preferred to stage a walk out from the official meeting to save himself from further embracement at the hands of DC.
The doctors said that they had also submitted a representation to higher authorities intimating them about the incident as well as about the alleged rude and abusive behavior of DC.
It is worthwhile to mention that several protests were held against DC since he took over the charge over a year ago-- but due to backing of BJP MP, MoS Dr Jatindra Singh and EX MLA Sunil Kumar Sharma, DC transfer was blocked time and again.
He earlier was also involved in undressing a GRS, teachers fraternity also held strong protest against him for misbehaving with Dy. CEO, Marwah resident also held protest against him many a time, abuse & assault union leader Joginder Bhandari in his office chamber after he demanded jobs for local unemployed in Pakal-Dool power project and recently the people held a strong protest against him after he denied critical ambulance to two year old child suffering from the pneumonia who later died at Jammu Hospital.
The people of unanimously called on the Governor administration to take action against the erring DC.
