DDC's ploy of being impartial, issues notice to BJP for removing banners

Early Times Report

KATHUA, Mar 6: In a bid to project himself as completely impartial, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kathua, who is facing serious allegations of being a supporter of the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), came out with an order of removing all hoardings, flags and posters of the saffron party from the government properties.
It is worthwhile to mention here that yesterday some political parties pointed out the biasness of the DDC, Kathua during the meeting with the team of Election Commission of India.
Several leaders representing different political parties leveled allegations that the DDC, Kathua is openly supporting the BJP.
"Following the complaints lodged by the political parties, the DDC in an attempt to save his skin as well as to show his impartiality issued notice to the Kathua district president of the BJP to remove the BJP flags and posters fixed on various government buildings in the city," said sources.
Sources said that the DDC used this ploy to counter his critics while at the same time he wanted to ensure that his posting is safe and secure adding that the trick employed by the officer is quite obvious as there are several official buildings where posters and banners of other political parties are also erected but they were not served any notice in this regard hence the BJP getting an ultimatum is something unimaginable.
Sources further said that the DDC is quite active on social media sites where he openly supports the BJP and ask his followers to back the saffron party adding that he is holding the command of the district since 2017 though he was transferred to Udhampur recently, however, he was shifted back here within days thanks to the blessings of the Union MoS in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh.
"The DDC was sent to Udhampur but his anti-encroachment drive there annoyed the Municipal Committee of the town. The Committee brought the actions of the DDC to the notice of Dr Jitendra Singh, who keeping in view the closeness of the officer with the party ensured his reinstatement as DDC Kathua," said sources.
