DDC reviews status of power sector projects

Kathua, Sept 7: District Development Commissioner, Dr. Raghav Langer today reviewed the implementation of several centrally sponsored schemes of Power sector including Deendayal Upadhaya Gram Jyoti Yojana (DDUGJY), Integrated Power Development Scheme(IPDS), SAUBHAGYA, Re-structured Accelerated Power Development Reforms Programme (R-APDRP), languishing projects and projects under PMDP.
The meeting was attended by Superintendent Engineer, EM&RE Circle Kathua, Karam Chand; Chief Planning Officer, Uttam Singh; Executive Engineer, EM&RE, Mohammad Shafi, Executive Engineer, STD Division III Kathua, Sanjeev Jain, Executive Engineer, TLMD Gladni Jammu, Sanjeev Rohmetra, Executive Engineer, GCD Jammu, Umesh Sharma, Executive Engineer, Project Wing Kathua, Vinod Kumar, AEEs and other District Officers.
The DDC emphasized on expeditious implementation of projects under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gram Jyoti Yojana, Integrated Power Development Scheme, Saubhagya and other schemes. He urged for strengthening of transmission and distribution system.
The DDC directed maintenance and project wing to carry joint inspection of identified villages to assess the requirements on ground so that they could be taken on priority. The DDC further directed to PDD officials to revisit the timelines of projects to ensure their early completion.
Dr. Langer further exhorted upon the contractors of private companies executing the projects that they should gear up their man and machinery for timely implementation of these projects.
He further maintained that there must be synchronization among the executing agency and the Department so that bottlenecks hampering the progress of these projects can be resolved.
For physical verification of work done under R-APDRP Part B scheme, DDC directed the AEE Maintenance, Kathua to submit detailed report of works completed under this scheme which covers Kathua town only.
