| Punjab based narcotics smuggler arrested, 370 Kg poppy straw recovered | | | Early Times Report
Samba, Dec 11: District Police Samba has arrested Punjab based narcotics smuggler and recovered 370 kg of Poppy Straw (Bhukki) in the jurisdiction of P/S Samba.
Acting on reliable information, a Police team of PP Supwal intercepted one truck bearing Regd. No. UP38AT-7396 which was coming from Kashmir and moving toward Punjab. During checking, the said vehicle was found to be loaded with apple boxes, in which 16 bags weighing a total of 370 kg of Poppy Straw were concealed.
The accused driver identified as Gurdev Singh resident of Basti Meethu, Jalandhar has been arrested on the spot and the recovered contraband item was seized. In this regard, a case FIR No. 261/2019 U/S 8/15 NDPS Act registered at Police Station Samba and further investigation started. |
