After six month of blockade, Inshan-Matigowran road cleared for traffic

Kishtwar, May 15: After remaining close for nearly six months, the authorities in Kishtwar District cleared the snow on Margan top and make the 40 KM road from Matigowran to Inshan for traffic worthy though the authorities keeping in view of the COVID 19 pandemic has so far not allowed any traffic movement on this road.
As per the details available with Early Times, the R&B Special Sub Division Marwah and Anantnag Division had clear the snow from the road in their respective jurisdiction.
The officials told the Early Times that snow has been cleared from the road up to Inshan Warwan which will ensure the supply of essential commodities in Marwah and Warwan areas of Kishtwar District.
It is pertinent to mention that Marwah and Warwan areas of Kishtwar District has road connectivity passes through Anantnag District of Kashmir Division.
The snow clearance work at Syanthan pass is still under way and in next few days it will be made traffic worthy as well.
The officials in District Administration said that the restrictions on traveling on Kishtwar-Anantnag-Inshan-Marwah road will remain continue since Anantnag District falls in Red Zone with over 100 COVID 19 cases reported from the District.
The officials said that the administration will felicitate the movement of all the essential commodities including the medicine supply in the area. With the opening of Inshan road, the Department of Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs will start the transportation of free ration in the area. Meanwhile several stranded people from Marwah and Warwan at Kishtwar urged upon the District Administration to ensure their shifting to homes ahead of holly festival of Eid.
The people mostly elders said that they are stranded in Kishtwar since last several months well before the lockdown following closure of all passes due to snowfall in last week of November 2019.
