IAF Apache helicopters hovers over Kishtwar, create speculations

Jammu, Sept 8: As situation worsen between India and China at LAC in Ladakh, the Indian Air Force (IAF) advance war fear helicopters Apache were seen flying over and landing at Kishtwar helipad trigger speculation among the local inhabitants about the worsening situation on Ladakh border which is close to Kishtwar. As per the details available with Early Times, the Apache helicopters take several flights from Kishtwar airport in last two days including during late night hours as a part of its alertness and preparation to tackle any situation arise out of the India-China border conflict. The sources told the Early Times, that the IAF activity is the part of alertness to tackle the China,s aggression added that as a part of major strategy the IAF is exploring all possible option to active the airstrips across the north-East India and Jammu and Kashmir so that any adventurism from China’s PLA could be given befitting reply. Kishtwar Chowgan Ground which is spread over approximately 544 Kanal of land is adjacent to in addition to approximately 1 KM airstrip that hoist international flights in 1988 with French company DSB use 16 seater plane to land at Kishtwar airport Indra Gandi in 1984 landed at Kishtwar airport and Chowgan ground with multiple choppers - As per the officials even fighter jets once landed in Kishtwar some 40 years ago. The sources said that Kishtwar Chowgan ground open land will provide additional support to already existing Kishtwar helipad and airstrip in case the need arises out of the border tension with China which is far close from Kishtwar as compared to other airstrips in Jammu and Kashmir beyond Ladakh.
Kishtwar is connected with Ladakh through Padder and after crossing Omacila mountain pass, we cross over to Zanskar valley and Kishtwar airport could act as first response Defense in case China does any misadventure on border with India.
The officials whoever in Kishtwar term the hovering of Apache helicopter as routine exercise and called upon the people not to indulge in any speculation.
