Violations of guidelines on COVID-19 continue to be flouted in various districts | Respective administrations showing laxity on crisis management | | Rajesh Tandon Early Times Report
Poonch, Sept 8: Even as the cases of COVID-19 have been increasing unexpectedly high across the region, but the respective administrations have not been taking things serious which can be gauged from the fact that gross violation of guidelines can be seen violated in various district including Poonch, Rajouri, Jammu. Sources told Early Times that people have not been taking preventive measures while going out in markets. People purchase daily utility things in the shops without exposing themselves of the corona, at many places customers can be seen standing in shops more than prescribed numbers. They further alleged that passenger vehicles are flouting norms. Drivers allow people to sit in the vehicles more than specified number and no SOPs are being followed by the transporters. Police have not been taking action against the violators. They informed us that social distancing is not being maintained by the public at many places but more shocking part of this serious situation is that concerned enforcement agencies are not taking action to make the people follow rules. Not only the market even it has been observed that in DC office Poonch, several people can be seen without wearing masks, they said. Although when the issue of violation by passenger vehicles was conveyed to the ARTO Poonch, he immediately sent a team, which imposes naka and checked all such vehicles. People demanded that heavy challan should be done against the violators. When SHO Poonch was contacted, he said that they laid down nakas at several occasions to ensure that no violation should be done. The local citizens demanded the police that FIR should be lodged against the violators
