Slap on face of Pak stooges
12/4/2020 9:31:48 PM
First three phases of District Development Council (DDC) elections witnessing good participation of people, especially in Kashmir, is a big slap on the face of Pakistan stooges and the separatists who during the past 30-years kept people away from the democratic exercises by brandishing gun.
The ongoing DDC polls are the first elections in the past 30-years in J&K where none of the separatists or militant outfits have issued a boycott call. Separatists have lost their addresses and militants are on the run due to the proactive action of the security forces.
Whosoever is coming out to vote in Kashmir is talking about peace, development and prosperity. No one wants violence and killings to go on. Handful of people who kept Kashmir burning for the past three decades stand exposed. It has been proved beyond doubt that Pak stooges were the worst enemies of the people. They filled their own coffers by selling the dead bodies of Kashmiris.
The NIA launching a massive crackdown against the separatists and exposing their dirty transactions and the assets owned by them cleared many misconceptions from the minds of people. They came to know that how rich were the Pak agents who used to tell a common man that election is a futile exercise and people should not participate in it.
Participation of people in the ongoing elections is a clear message to the secessionists and the gun wielding militants that their time has ended and people want to move ahead.
The DDC polls are just a beginning. In coming days other elections will be held to choose the representatives for assembly and other forums at that time more people will come forward to vote and strengthen the democracy in the newly carved union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The DDC polls have set the ball rolling for the reestablishment of democracy in Kashmir. The democracy and the democratic institutions were the worst hit during the past three decades of turmoil. Militants on the instructions of their bosses sitting across the Line of Control (LoC) killed many people who tried to become a democratic process. However, now, the time has changed the killers are on the run and they are aware of the fact that their days are numbered as Kashmir is almost out of the woods.
