SRINAGAR, Dec 15: The COVID-19 recovery rate in the union territory of Jammu & Kashmir reached 94.64 percent as 460 more virus affected patients were discharged from different hospitals today. The death toll reached 1,812 as 10 fresh deaths were reported while as positive cases reach 1, 16,600 following 346 fresh cases.
Jammu district reported 117 fresh cases of Corona Virus followed by Srinagar district 75 cases, Rajouri district 22 cases, Budgam district 16 cases, Kupwara and Kathua districts 15 cases each, Pulwama and Udhampur districts 12 cases each, Kishtwar district 11 cases, Samba district nine cases, Baramulla district eight cases, Bandipora and Doda districts seven cases each, Ganderbal district six cases, Anantnag district four cases, Reasi district three cases, Kulgam, Poonch and Ramban districts two cases each and Shopian district one case.
Srinagar district in the Kashmir valley reported three fresh COVID-19 deaths followed by two deaths each in Doda and Kathua districts in Jammu division while as a death each was reported from Jammu, Udhampur and Kulgam districts. So far 1,156 people have died due to the virus in Kashmir valley while as the number of such deaths in Jammu division is 656.
The Jammu & Kashmir administration through the media bulletin informed that 346 new positive cases of novel Corona Virus (COVID-19), 200 from Jammu division and 146 from Kashmir division, have been reported today thus taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 1, 16,600. Also 10 COVID-19 deaths have been reported; six from Jammu division and four from Kashmir division.
Moreover, 460 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals including 217 from Jammu division and 243 from Kashmir division. Out of 1, 16,600 positive cases, 4,434 are active positive, 1, 10,354 have recovered and 1,812 have died; 656 in Jammu division and 1,156 in Kashmir division.
Out of 33, 90,826 test results available, 32, 74,226 samples have tested negative till date. Till date 8, 35,055 persons have been enlisted for observation which included 20,955 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 4,434 in isolation and 28,625 in home surveillance. Besides, 7, 79,229 persons have completed their surveillance period.
The bulletin said that Srinagar has 24,391 positive cases, 1,091 active positive, 22,864 recovered, 436 deaths; Baramulla has 7,754 positive cases, 177 active positive, 7,408 recovered, 169 deaths; Budgam has 7,343 positive cases, 276 active positive, 6,962 recovered, 105 deaths; Kupwara has 5,387 positive cases, 175 active positive, 5,124 recovered, 88 deaths; Pulwama has 5,312 positive cases, 167 active positive, 5,057 recovered, 88 deaths.
“Anantnag has 4,671 positive cases, 98 active positive, 4,491 recovered, 82 deaths; Bandipora has 4,555 positive cases, 91 active positive, 4,407 recovered, 57 deaths; Ganderbal has 4,365 positive cases, 96 active positive, 4,228 recovered, 41 deaths; Kulgam has 2,630 positive cases, 66 active positive, 2,511 recovered, 53 deaths and Shopian has 2,432 positive cases, 75 active positive, 2,320 recovered, 37 deaths,” reads the bulletin.
The bulletin said that Jammu has 22,374 positive cases, 808 active positive, 21,233 recovered, 333 deaths; Udhampur has 3,968 positive cases, 246 active positive, 3,668 recovered, 54 deaths; Rajouri has 3,727 positive cases, 241 active positive, 3,433 recovered, 53 deaths; Doda has 3,303 positive cases, 130 active positive, 3,113 recovered, 60 deaths; Kathua has 3,036 positive cases, 117 active positive, 2,872 recovered, 47 deaths.
“Kishtwar has 2,682 positive cases, 134 active positive, 2,527 recovered, 21 deaths; Samba has 2,636 positive cases, 226 active positive, 2,376 recovered, 34 deaths; Poonch has 2,422 positive cases, 28 active positive, 2,372 recovered, 22 deaths; Ramban has 2,042 positive cases, 79 active positive, 1,942 recovered, 21 deaths and Reasi has 1,570 positive cases, 113 active positive, 1,446 recovered, 11 deaths,” reads the bulletin. Out of 1, 16,600 positive cases, 11,031 have been reported as travelers.
The bulletin has informed the people that, the best way to protect themselves from COVID-19 is by maintaining physical distance of at least two meters from others, frequently cleaning hands with an alcohol based hand sanitizer or washing them with soap and water and following good respiratory etiquette and hygiene. As a measure for social distancing in public places and workplaces wearing a face cover is compulsory.
