| AZAD’S KARVA CHAUTH GIFT TO LADIES CLUB | | 16 ladies, children’s parks for Jammu, Srinagar, 2 parks each for all districts | | | Jammu,October 09 : Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Monday won many a womens hearts when he announced that his government was handing over Maharaja Hari Singh Zanana park back to ladies club after restoring it to its past glory.
"Take it as a gift from the state government on the occasion of Karva Chauth,Chief Minister announced after inaugurating the parkamidst thunderous applause.
Chief Ministers announcement, however, came with a rider.
"My dear sisters,I know you are all good at homemaking and keep your houses clean but I would request you to maintain this park as if it is your own house.
The state government has spent Rs 62 lakhs to bring it to its past glory, he added asking them to bring only small children to the park and to avoid bringing grown up kids to avoid damage to the park.He also advised ladies club members to constitute their executive body to take charge of the entertainment club to run it administration properly.

Fifty fresh cases of dengue have been reported in the national capital taking the total number of people afflicted by the virus to 936 even as the NCT government claimed that the outbreak appeared to "slow down." As many as 41 dengue patients were admitted in the last 24 hours ending 8:00 A.M. At the AIIMS alone where 173 people are undergoing treatment for the viral disease, Medical Superintendent D K Sharma told reporters.
Twenty-two people have succumbed to the viral disease in the capital this year.
Eighteen patients, including Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's grandson Rohan, have been discharged from the AIIMS in the last 24 hours.

North Korea carried out an underground nuclear test on Monday, North Korea's Central News Agency (KCNA) reported.
The test was carried out at 0706 hrs IST in Hwaderi near Kilju city.
"Our science research section has safely and successfully conducted an underground nuclear test on October 9," it said.
It added that there was no leak or danger from the test.
South Korea's presidential Blue House said a tremor had been detected in North Korea on Monday.
It said South Korea's Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources had detected a tremor of a magnitude 3.58 to 3.7 at 07.00 am.
