Jammu Oct 23: While the Jammu and Central Cooperative Bank (JCCB) is dragging its feet for getting its license renewed from Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the nodal banking agency, the employees of Jammu Central Cooperative Bank have decided to go on indefinite strike after three of their office bearers raised demand of increments and DA were transferred by Chairman Mohinder Singh with immediate effect.
The dark clouds are looming over the chair of chairman as at one hand the employees have decided to go on indefinite strike in support of their demands of increments and DA on the other hand the three General Managers of Bank namely Abdul Qayoom (Advs), RL Choudhary (Admn/CEO) and Ganesh Chandel Sharma (I&V/BP&D) alleging they are devoid of any executive powers as the same are with Chairman thus have decided to aim their guns towards the present chairmanship. They alleged they had no free hand command at administrative machinery effectively while centralized power has caused total chaos in the institution which is already passing through financial crises.

JAMMU, Oct 23: A senior army officer today said the repeated incidents of firing by Pakistan in violation of the border ceasefire were part of its old tactics to provide cover to militants waiting on their side to enter the Indian territory.
Quoting intelligence inputs, he said there were a number of militants waiting in the forward Pak posts to enter J&K.
“Since both the International Border (IB) and the Line of Control (LoC) have been fenced, it has virtually become impossible for the Pak-trained militants to sneak into the state,” the officer, who did not want to be quoted, said.

The State government is contemplating on giving additional three subsidised LPG cylinders to consumers on its own after getting rebuttal from the Centre. This would cost the State government an additional Rs 500 crores.
“The government is seriously considering it. As unrest on this account across the State, especially in the Kashmir, can pose serious threat to peace, which the government can’t afford,” said a cabinet minister.

Kishtwar October 23:- The District Administration has imposed restrictions under Section 144 CrPC around examination centres in Kishtwar to curb the menace of copying as Chief Education Officer, Lok Nath Butt vide his order No: CEO/K/12/8837-8839 appointed Dy CEO as Chief Inspector of Examination centres falling in Marwah, Dachhan and Warwan areas of the district.
The examinations are scheduled to be held from 25th of October 2012 at 36 examination centres spread over 7 education zones across the district. Overall 3138 students from 93 High/Higher Secondary schools including some recognized private schools will appear in the said examination.
