JAMMU, Nov 11: After National Conference having withdrawn its legislators, Khalid Najib Suharwardy and Bashir Ahmad Veeri from the House Committee investigating charges of forest land grab against Taj Mohi-ud-din followed by the withdrawal of Bashir Ahmad Magray of Congress, the credibility of the committee has come under shadow and if the sources are to be believed, Chairman Legislative Council is likely to dissolve the house panel tomorrow.
Bashir Ahmad Magray of Congress today reportedly decided to withdrew from the panel and the same was conveyed to the chairman LC, Amrit Malhotra by the member this afternoon. With the resignation of Magray, the strength of the panel has been reduced to two legislators viz Murtaza Khan of PDP and Rafiq Shah of Panthers Party. Rafiq Shah is the complainant while as Murtaza Khan was nominated as chairman of the 5 member panel. JAMMU, Nov 11: Congress is likely to seek its pound of flesh from National Conference in the upcoming elections for four seats of Legislative Council from the quota of Panchayat members. The elections are to be held on December 3.
In the three hour long meeting of Congress legislature party held at Engineers Institute Gandhinagar here today, sources said that MLAs, Ministers and MLCs unanimously opined in favour of seeking one seat from Jammu region and one from Kashmir valley from NC. Though the predominant view was in favour of not contesting elections with National Conference yet leaders agreed to obey instructions from party high command.

BARAMULLA, Nov 11: Former Minister and Member AICC Abdul Gani Vakil has said that Congress stands for strengthening of Article 370. "Those who seek abrogation of the Article are enemies of the State and intend to weaken State's relation with Centre", he said. He was addressing a party convention at Dangiwacha Rafiabad in North Kashmir district of Baramulla today.
The elderly leader said Congress was determined to ensure equitable development of all the three regions of Jammu and Kashmir. "Congress's main focus is to develop Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh equitably", he said. Adding "Congress will ensure that there was no discrimination against any region."

NEW DELHI, Nov 11: The Union Home Ministry will soon convene a high-level meeting with experts in the field of engineering and Army officials to ascertain feasibility of erecting permanent fence along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir that can withstand heavy snowfall.
The move is aimed at achieving zero-infiltration of terrorists from Pakistan and PoK.
