NEW DELHI, Nov 1: The Supreme Court on Tuesday said the pleas against the practice of political parties promising pre-election freebies will be heard “in entirety” by a three-judge bench.

Anantnag, Nov 1: Three terrorists including a foreigner were killed in an encounter at Khandipora area of Awantipora area of Pulwama district while as an unidentified terrorist was killed in an ongoing encounter at Semthan village of Bijbhera in Anantnag district of south Kashmir, police said Tuesday.
“01 #terrorist killed in #Bijbehara encounter. Operation going on,” the J&K police tweeted.
A police official said that the identity and affiliation of the slain was being ascertained.

Srinagar, Nov 1: The upper reaches of the Kashmir Valley experienced fresh snowfall while the plains were lashed by rains on Tuesday, leading to the closure of the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri (SSG) road connecting Zojila pass in Ladakh.
The Meteorological Department forecast a generally cloudy sky and possibility of intermittent light to moderate rains or snow during the next 24 hours. There will be no snow in the plains. The higher reaches of Pahalgam and Pir Panjal range in south Kashmir received light snowfall overnight.

Authorities said the air pollution normally increased after Diwali fireworks but it this time it remained normal during the festival but later started going up. New Delhi, Nov 1: Twitter banned 52,141 accounts in India for promoting child sexual exploitation, non-consensual nudity and allied content between August 26 and September 25.
The micro-blogging platform, now owned by Elon Musk, also took down 1,982 accounts for promoting terrorism on its platform in the country.
