Militants attack near PCC President’s residence
One worker killed, two others injured

JAMMU, FEB 21 Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly condemned the militant attack near the residence of PCC President Peerzada Mohammed Sayeed at Damhal in Anantnag district in which one of his close worker was killed and three others including two Congress workers suffered serious injuries. A party handout said that the militants struck at the residence of the PCC Chief this evening and shot dead his closer follower Mohammed Ramzan Mir and seriously injured three others. The injured included Bashir Ahmed Wani and Mohammed Abdullah Wani of village Damhal and have been shifted to hospital. Senior leaders and the entire rank and file of the party have strongly condemned the attack and expressed grief and shock over the death of Ramzan Mir and expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and also prayed for early recovered of the injured. ...

NEW DELHI, FEB 21 Cautioning against any "quick-fix" solution to the Jammu and Kashmir issue, the main opposition BJP today told Pakistan that people of India would not accept any surrender on Kashmir. Senior BJP leader L K Advani told visiting Pakistan Foreign Minister Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri, who met him at his residence here, that progress should also be made on other issues that are part of the composite dialogue process. "There are eight issues in the ongoing composite dialogue process between India and Pakistan. India, Pakistan sign agreement on nuclear weapons

BL KAK NEW DELHI, FEB 21 Indian capital witnessed an event of tremendous importance on Wednesday, when, in a major confidence-building measure, India and Pakistan formally signed an agreement to reduce the risk from accidental use of nuclear weapons. The agreement was signed after a Joint Commission meeting co-chaired by the Minister of External Afairs, Pranab Mukherjee, and his Pakistani counterpart, Khurshid Mehmood Kasuri.
