| CM takes stock of Jammu festival arrangements | | | | Jammu, April 11
Chief Minister Mr. Ghulam Nabi Azad visited Bahu Fort and Parade Ground areas here this evening and took stock of arrangements finalized for 3-day Jammu festival taking off from April 13.
Minister for Tourism Mr. Mohammad Dilawar Mir, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation Mr. Narinder Singh, Corporators, Secretary Tourism Mr. Naeem Akhtar, Director Tourism Jammu Mr. Ajay Khajuria and other senior officers accompanied Mr. Azad during the visit.
Chief Minister got appraisal of the programme details from the concerned officers for holding various events. He discussed venue-wise details of events being organized during the festival and said that the festival should be made a memorable occasion.
Stressing for closer coordination among various agencies to make the event a grand success, Mr. Azad said that all the events should be fully publicized for greater public participation. He emphasized that all roads, lanes, drains, bye-lanes and bazars should be kept neat and clean with city giving a festive look.

This year’s Shri Amarnathji Yatra in Kashmir will commence on Vrat Purnima simultaneously via Baltal and Pahalgham, subject to weather, from June 30 and conclude on Shravan Purnima (Raksha Bandhan) falling on August 28.
Announcing this at a media conference here this morning, the Principal Secretary to Governor and Chief Executive Officer, Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB), Dr Arun Kumar said that elaborate arrangements are being made for the 2-month yatra. ‘A reccee of the snow-clad route has been conducted by a party of local workers and the restoration work will start soon after the snows melt’, he added.
