Srinagar, May 10
State government today terminated the services of former Deputy Director, Employment Doda Chaman Lal Khosa, KAS for remaining on unauthorized leave.
The termination order was issued by General Administrative Department in pursuance of the cabinet decision No.l7519 dated 13.08.2006.
Sources said that GAD issued an order - Government Order No 547 GAD of 2007- here today, whereby Chaman Lal Khosa son of SN Khosa at present resident of 629-A Gandhi Nagar, Jammu was terminated with effect from 2000.
Khosa who is from Jammu and Kashmir Industries and Commerce (G) Services cadre was given the Time scale of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service (KAS) in 1997.
It was reliably learnt that during his posting as Deputy Director, Employment, Doda, the official proceeded on thirty days earned leave and sought extension of the same. Following this Khosa allegedly went on unauthorized leave and never resumed back his duties.
When the government issued a show cause notice, the official reportedly pleaded that his case may be taken up for pre-mature retirement.... | |

There are still a many pitfalls ahead for the upcoming Baglihar Project that have diminished the chances of the commissioning of its 450 MW first phase on the targeted time of December this year – The major cause for the delay are slow execution and rise in the costs by Rs 300 crore owing to flood damages.
All this came to fore during the inspection of the on going works on the 450 MW first phase by two member Central Water Commission team led by secretary Union Ministry of water Resources secretary Union Ministry of water Resources Ms Gori Chaterjee.
During its visit, the team went round all sections of the project including Dam site, Tunnels and Power house.
