SRINAGAR, May 30 : The State Level Sanctioning Committee headed by Chief Secretary, Mr. Mohammad Iqbal Khandey Thursday reviewed the implementation of Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY) in Jammu and Kashmir and also approved the proposed action plan 2013-14 of Rs. 146.69 crore. Out of the total amount of Rs. 146.96 crore, an amount of Rs. 24.78 crore has been earmarked for normal RKVY, Rs. 100 crore for Saffron Mission, Rs. 7 crore for vegetable initiative for urban clusters and Rs. 14.91 crore for National Mission on protein supplement.
Stressing the need for bringing more clusters under vegetable initiative, the Chief Secretary said that it has registered phenomenal success both in Srinagar as well as Jammu besides other traditional vegetable growing belts in other districts should also be brought under the scheme. As many as 2154 green houses have been distributed during last three years in Kashmir while as 900 green houses have been distributed in Jammu, the meeting was informed. | Governor for bringing larger number of youth under Scouts & Guides movement | | | |
SRINAGAR, May 30 : Mr. N. N. Vohra, Governor, today stressed the need for extending activities of J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides to the remote and far-flung areas of the State to bring a much larger number of youth under the ambit of Scouts and Guides movement. The Governor was interacting with a group of Scouts and Guides which called on him at Raj Bhavan here today to felicitate him on his appointment for the second term. This group of Scouts and Guides was led by Mr. N. A. Khan, State Chief Commissioner, J&K State Bharat Scouts and Guides.

Jammu, May 30 : For the smooth conduct of this year's Amarnath yatra, Joint Yatra Control Rooms would be set up in each district to help enable collect details related to the pilgrimage. A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting here to review the security arrangements of Amarnath yatra presided over by Inspector General, Jammu Zone, Rajesh Kumar. Joint Yatra Control Rooms would be established in each district to deal with the issues relating to Yatra, an official spokesman said.
