Early Times Report SRINAGAR, July 12 : Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Friday directed for shrinking the time frame of the Rehabilitation and Resettlement Project for Dal dwellers from five years to three years asking Lakes and Waterways Development Authority (LAWDA) to fast track the activities of paying compensation to the affected families and providing them plots at the identified sites. Chairing a high level meeting to review the pace of progress on rehabilitation project for Dal dwellers, the Chief Minister said that at least 500 structures should be targeted to be paid compensation each year during the next three years alongwith providing plots to the affected families to complete the project by 2015-16. Mr. Vinod Ranjan, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests, J&K has been placed in the apex scale of Rs. 80,000(fixed) and designated as Head of Forest Force (HoFF). Chhari Mubarak to be carried to Amarnath by Pahalgam route

Srinagar, July 12 : 'Chhari Mubarak', the holy mace of Lord Shiva, will be carried to the cave shrine of Amarnath on July 22 through the traditional Pahalgam route. "Chhari Mubarak will leave for Pahalgam from Dashnami Akhara, Srinagar on July 22. 'Bhoomi Pujan' and 'Dhwajarohan' (flag hoisting) ceremonies will be performed at the resting place of Chhari Mubarak in Pahalgam. After performing the rituals, Chhari Mubarak will return to Dashnami Akhara on the same day," Mahant Deependra Giri, custodian of the holy mace, said in a statement. Jammu : To ascertain the facts regarding total number of J & K citizens dead or missing in Uttarakhand natural calamity, an RTI application has been filed before the Public Information officer of the J & K Home Ministry at Civil Secretariat, Srinagar. An application dated 12/July/2013 under Jammu and Kashmir Right to Information act 2009 has been submitted by RTI activist Raman Sharma. Jammu : India and Pakistan are likely to restart the process of dialogue aimed at reducing trust deficit by exchanging prisoners held in jails in the two countries. Islamabad, official sources said, has renewed its plea to New Delhi for releasing all the Pak prisoners held in Indian jails. As far as Pakistan is concerned it has prepared a list of those Indian who are held in various jails in Pakistan.
