JAMMU, Aug 11: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Sunday reiterated that the Government’s stance on assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir has remained “unchanged” since the abrogation of Article 370 and expressed hope that Election Commission will soon declare the polling dates.

SRINAGAR, Aug 11: The death toll in the overnight anti-terror operation in Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir rose to three on Sunday as one of the two civilians injured in the encounter succumbed, officials said.
Abdul Rashid Dar, who was injured in terrorist firing on Saturday, succumbed to injuries at a hospital here early Sunday, the officials said.
Two Army personnel were martyred and two civilians injured in a fierce gunfight with terrorists in the Ahlan Gagarmandu forest area of Anantnag district at an altitude of 10,000 feet on Saturday, officials said.

JAMMU, Aug 11: An encounter took place between security forces and terrorists in a remote forest in Kishtwar early on Sunday, officials said.
The officials, however, assured the pilgrims visiting the Machail Mata shrine in the district of adequate security and said there was no need to panic. SRINAGAR, Aug 11: Amid heightened security, another batch of pilgrims left for the Amarnath Yatra from Pantha Chowk base camp in Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir, on Sunday.
Vijay Kumar, a pilgrim who came from Jalandhar to pay obeisance at the Amarnath Shrine located in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district, spent a night at the Base camp on Saturday.
“They provided us with good facilities at the camp. Soon, a bus (carrying pilgrims) will leave for Baltal. We will return after paying our obeisance,” he said.
