jammu, Sept 27: A day after Chief Minister Omar Abdullah expressed 'displeasure ' the way JKPCC president Prof Saif-u-Din Soz shot a letter to him reminding Congress' stand on need to empower the Panchayats, Congress today hit back asserting it was well within its right to reiterate and assert over the issue till some practical action is taken in the matter. Omar had also taken strong notice of what he said the letter or any statement meant to be communicated to Chief Minister should not have been leaked to media.

jammu, Sept 27: The dissidence in State Congress is increasing with more and more leaders from Saif-ud-Din-Soz camp shifting their loyalty to Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad's camp.
According to sources the leaders in Soz camp feel dejected with increasing importance of Azad in the AICC affairs and his close proximity to Nehru-Gandhi family. Sources said Mr Azad who is on the tour of State at present to assess the situation in the State has also met many of Soz loyalists in Srinagar and at Jammu.

new delhi, Sept 27: Congress today dismissed suggestions that it is "Omar versus Rahul" on the issue of the security of elected Sarpanches in Jammu and Kashmir but stressed they should be provided full security by the State Government.
"Not at all. There is nothing like Omar Abdullah versus Rahul Gandhi in this matter," party spokesperson Rashid Alvi told reporters when asked whether the issue of security of elected Sarpanches and Panchayat members in Jammu and Kashmir was leading to some sort of a tiff between Gandhi and Omar.
