Leh observes shutdown against poor BSNL services | | | Early Times Report leh (ladakh), Sept 12: Complete shutdown was observed in Leh district today to protest poor services of the BSNL. The Bandh call was given by Traders' Association, Travel Trade Organizations and subscribers with the support from Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) Leh and District Congress Committee (DCC) Leh. In a statement, Tsering Samphel, President, District Congress Committee (DCC), Leh said that the tourists during their stay in Leh face communication. The statement said the problem had a serious bearing on the Congress leaders. The statement said Leh was strategically important. "The BSNL authorities are unaware of this and this is an anti-national outlook", the statement said. The statement stressed need for an efficient communication system. "The region remains cut off from rest of the country for seven months. Therefore, an effective system is needed here", it read. President, District Congress Committe (DCC), Leh in a letter to the Prime Minister of India sought his intervention in the matter. They also demanded a team of officials to take stock of the BSNL functioning in Leh. |
