Early Times Report
Jammu, Oct 3: Amid the speculations of much awaited cabinet expansion and reshuffle of the portfolios which will see many heads rolling down, the incumbent ministers in the Congress are apprehensive about their 'exit' from the corridors of powers , which has gained momentum with some party stalwarts having taken serious cognizance of the reports of 'dissatisfactory and not up to mark' performance of most of the ministers who include some junior ones too. Highly placed sources said that while the talk about non performing ministers and some not delivering on the lines party high command expected them to do has been in circulation much before the speculations of reshuffle resurfaced on the political scenario, but it came to fore loudly during the visit of former Chief Minister and Union Health Minister's visit to Jammu last week when a group of senior leaders and state functionaries formally lodged what can be seen as complaints and grievances they have with some ministers.
Sources said while the Union minister who still holds a clout and control over J&K politics and party matters has taken notice of the growing disillusionment of party workers , cadres and even PCC leadership that some ministers enjoying very senior position in the government have not been assertive in matters of governance nor in taking the well meaning and senior functionaries along in one group , a fact that manifests their lack of leadership qualities besides their poor report card in not having been of any help to solve or settle party affairs in spite of enjoying power in the highest echelons.
However, what has come as a great disappointment to Azad , as brought into notice during closed door meetings with some party delegations is the fact that at least three of the ministers having MoS status in the coalition, who have been owing allegiance with this faction, have not shown any satisfactory performance both in the government as also in the political and party matters .Sources said the performance report and growing grouse of the party men on account of his 'unacceptable' approach and attitude against one of the ministers (MOS) , who is taking care of most of the vital departments has in particular annoyed the Union Health Minister.
