JAMMU, Oct 13 : To implement the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Technique (PC-PNDT) Act in letter and spirit in the state, the Secretary, Health and Medical Education, Manoj Kumar Dwivedi has called for the constitution of special squads at block level. The Commissioner Secretary said this while chairing the Monthly Review Meeting of the entire Health Department at Gandhi Nagar, Hospital today. Mission Director NRHM, Dr Yashpal Sharma,Director Health Services, Jammu, Dr Madhu Khullar, Project Director AIDS Control Society, Dr Rakesh Khajuria, Controller Food and Drug, Satish Gupta, were also present on the occasion, along with the Deputy Directors, Chief Medical Officers and Medical Superintendents of all the districts. In the meeting, Mr Dwivedi took up the core issues for thorough discussion which included School Health Programmes, implementation of PC and PNDT Act, establishment and functioning of Sick Neonatal Care Units (SNCUs), setting up of the Blood Banks in all district hospitals, rationali-sation of staff , functioning of National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), AIDS Control Programme, Rashtriya Swas-thya Bima Yojna (RSBY ) and others. He asked the Block Medical Officers to report the details of pregnancies and the deliveries and the cases should be discussed in every 15 days in a district," he stressed. He directed DHS Jammu expedite the work for common bio-medical treatment facility at Jammu and also setting up of two incinerators at Rajouri and Doda. The meeting also discussed Non Communicable Diseases programme , which is also under implementation. Dr Yash informed that most of the information required under NRHM has been uploaded on the website including list of functional delivery points, list of JSY/JSSK beneficiaries, manpower details and different action plans. Dr Madhu Khullar, informed about various plans, which were executed in the recent past to improve health care facilities in the Division. |
