| Lured through facebook, kidnapped minor rescued | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Oct 19: Udhampur Police today rescued a minor girl hailing from Rajasthan who has developed friendship with one Vishal of Jammu through social networking site Facebook and later was kidnapped and even molested by vishal and his friends. Meanwhile police said manhunt is on to nab the three abductors who managed to give slip to police at Kud. Sharing details about the rescue of minor girl from the clutches of his abductors, Sr Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur Ashkoor Ahmed Wani, (IPS) said that while surfing Social Networking Site Facebook, the minor girl of Rajasthan accepted the friend request of one Vishal R/o Railway Station Jammu who was running a PCO at Railway Station Jammu, which subsequently developed into a love affair. "The main accused of abduction i.e. Vishal hatched a conspiracy in connivance to his two friends identified namely as Anshu and Vicky of Jammu and invited the said girl to Jammu in lieu of performing Vaishno Devi Pilgrimage, SSP UDhampur said while sharing details with media persons. He said, "Accordingly, the said girl departed from Rajasthan on 17/10/2012 and reported at Jammu on 18/10/2012 from the said Vishal along with his two friends took her to Katra in a Silver Coloured Safari." "From Katra they motivated the girl to visit Patnitop rather than Vaishno Devi as there is huge rush of pilgrims on the eve of holy Navratras. Subsequently, they proceeded towards Patnitop, he added. He said," On way, they started molesting/harassing the girl near Kud. The Police Party of P/s Kud under the supervision of DySP Gian Chand Sharma, SDPO Chenani noticed their activities and approached the girl, who narrated her whole story of her kidnapping. But, as the Police party was busy in ascertaining the detailed facts from the said girl, the above named accused persons managed to fled away from the spot along with their vehicle. The said minor girl has been shifted to Police Women Cell Udhampur and the parents of rescued girl have been called so that the girl could be handed over to them. In this regard, a case FIR No 108/2012 U/S 366/354/RPC stands registered at P/S Kud and further investigation in the case is going on. |
