| Martyr cop’s son among four lifted in 'Babloo murder' case | | | Sumit Sharma Jammu, Oct 19: In an unexpected and rare incident police martyr's son could ever be picked up the police along with other three persons for their possible involvement in committing murder of Nagander Singh alias Babloo of Vijaypur, police sources said. Meanwhile eight persons were held in Surankote of Poonch for their alleged involvement in a murder case. Sources identified two of the four accused namely as Deepak who happens to be son of police martyr and Sanju, a hardcore criminal. The sister of the Deepak is also serving in JK Police force. Their sustained questioning was in progress in police station Vijaypur and police is sanguine of having a lead in solving the mysterious murder case. Pertinently, the petrified body of Babloo was found in a field in Vijaypur on 24 September and during investigation police came to know that the victim was first strangulated and then his head was chopped off. Police has also lifted two brothers (cousin) of the deceased as it has been apprehension that murder was committed with their connivance as deceased used to complaint his land being grabbed by the duo (his cousin) when he (victim) was in jail and the matter of land grabbing is presently sub-judiced. Pertinently, Babloo who was facing various criminal cases was murdered few weeks ago after he was released from jail. SSP Samba Israr Khan, who is camping in Vijaypur to solve the blind murder case when contacted confirmed the reports by saying that some persons had been lifted for sustained questioning to reach the depth of the case. He said that a special team headed by ASP Koushal was investigating the murder case and the team is near to close to crack the hard nut. Meanwhile, Eight persons were booked for committing murder of a man in village Hardi,Surankote in district Poonch today. Police sources identified deceased as Shakar Din son of Mohd Din. Sources said that land dispute is stated to be the reason behind the incident. A case under section 302 RPC has been registered against the alleged accused. The deceased had old dispute with his neighbor and the incident took place over verbal duel between them which took ugly turn when the alleged accused assaulted on him with sharp edged weapon . No arrest was made till late hours. |
