FIR lodged against 14, massive hunt to nab culprits

Jammu, Nov 3: Taking cognizance of the yesterday's firing incident at Chatta locality falling under its jurisdiction, the Channi Himmat Police today registered a case against fourteen persons and a massive man hunt is launched to arrest the accused for their criminal involvement in disturbing law and order situation.
The Police registered a case against fourteen accused in a FIR No 105/2012 who were booked under section 307, 447, 147, 148, 149, 336 RPC and 3/25 Arms Act. As per police sources police have launched massive manhunt to nab the accused and co- accused in the said firing incident and have reportedly conducted atleast 15 raids in different areas of Jammu district. "However, no arrest was made till late hours, sources said.
Pertinently, four persons received bullet injuries in a shootout that took place between two groups over land dispute in Chatta area falling under the jurisdiction of Channi Himmat Police Station.
The two groups clashed over a 100 kanal piece of land, reportedly of forest land, which was rented by one Sain Ditta (who claims his possession on said land piece) and have rented the same to Ghulam Mohd. When Sain Ditta asked his tenant to vacate the land in question, his tenant outrightly refused to acknowledge the request of former.
Irked over negative response, Sain Ditta alongwith some persons reached on the spot and set the thatched shed of the Ghulam Mohd on fire.
Meanwhile Ghulam Mohd approached the Sarpanch of the area Asgar Ali who too also rushed to the spot but things took ugly turn when the two groups exchanged firing in which four persons were injured. "Shah Mohd son of Farooq Din of Chatta,Vickram Sdingh son of Balwan Singh of Deeli,Kamaljeet Singh son of Krishan Lal of Bahu Fort and Talib Hussain of Chatta received the bullet injuries and were treated at GMC &H Jammu.
A case in this connection has been registered by police and further investigation was in progress.
