| Tacit understanding between NC, JKNPP…..? | | NC bashing against all opposition parties minus JKNPP….; PP leaders too play safe, target Cong alone for 'lapses'… | | early times report Jammu, Nov 4: Politics makes strange bedfellows. This is the common saying about how things and relations emerge in politics. In the era of coalition politics and in the game of one up man show between national and regional parties , this saying is true about the political parties as well. In J&K too there are strange ties between parties in ruling coalition and those in opposition. While the ruling party NC's main rival is the principle opposition party PDP and both remain poles apart in terms of taking on each other on almost all issues, there are some parties in opposition which conduct themselves in a pretty cool and cordial manner for their vested interests apparently. Ruling NC leaves no chance to hit and attack PDP , even under situations where it is not warranted at all. NC also toes the same line for main opposition based in Jammu BJP and even terms it no different than PDP when it comes to rake up certain issues. Like for instance NC's stalwart Mustafa Kamal is often seen bashing both NC and PDP in a loud manner and terming both parties as 'communal, having divisive strategies etc etc. Even NC's leader from Jammu and Chief Minister's Political Advisor Devinder Singh frequently attacks PDP and BJP in same breath while labeling them with such tags as Kamal chooses . While this is something normal to take on parties in opposition or for the parties in opposition to take on those in ruling coalition, no matter at times the criticism has no rationale at all, it is strange to find a fiery party with firebrand leaders JKNPP choosing to remain reticent for NC or its leadership when it comes to hit out at ruling coalition. Panthers Party leaders and legislators are often seen attacking Congress while pointing out aspects of misgovernance , mal functioning of various departments or in making allegations of corruption. Be it inside the Assembly, or outside while addressing press conferences or giving hard hitting statements the target is often Congress or its ministers. Very rarely the attack is against NC leadership or ministers of NC. In recent issues and political clamour over Amarnath Yatra track macadamisation or on the one related to common masses the LPG crisis , PP leaders targeted only Congress , while NC is the ruling party in alliance which takes decisions on all crucial matters and should be questioned first . One wonders what makes it do so. One is prompted to take a deep 'peep' to see if there is some tacit understanding of the leaders between the two parties despite being in opposition and ruling alliance. If the approach and conduct of the leaders of both the parties is scrutinized on a host of issues, it certainly confirms so. But what is the tacit understanding for at this point of time is the moot question….?
