| DM Rajouri imposes restrictions on sale of crackers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT RAJOURI, Nov 6 : District Magistrate Rajouri, Saugat Biswas in exercise of powers under section 144 Cr. P C has ordered that no fireworks, crackers or explosive material shall be stored or sold in place other than those specified by District Magistrate/Additional District Magistrate for the areas within Rajouri municipality, Sub-Divisional Magistrate within Nowshera municipality and by the respective Tehsildars in other areas of their jurisdiction on the basis of clearance from Superintendent of Police, Rajouri/Additional Superintendent of Police, Nowshera and SDPOs as the case may be in respect of municipal areas and SHOs in respect of rural areas. Stalls for sale of fireworks, crackers etc shall be put by the concerned dealer only at the places mentioned in their permission after getting clearance in each case from the Assistant Director Fire & Emergency Services, Rajouri in respect of Rajouri municipality. He has further ordered that no person under 18 years of age or who is in a state of intoxication or of unsound mind shall be employed for loading/unloading or transportation of explosives or be allowed to enter in permitted premises. Explosive which are not authorized under rules or prohibited under section 6(A) of the Act shall be possessed or sold from the premises. In order to restrict the noise level Chocolate Bomb, Chain Cracker (Kali Pataka, Loose Cracker) Dhani Pataka, Dadoma, Seven Shots, Rocket Bomb, Garland Patakas, Stat Bomb etc. shall not be sold by the wholesale cracker dealer/retail cracker dealer. No retail sale of crackers or other fireworks shall be undertaken after the Diwali festival. The crackers and other explosive material shall contain a price tag which shall not be more than the price printed on each explosive. The price printed shall be deemed to include all local taxes even if the printed prices specifically read 'Local Tax Extra'. In case any wholesale or retail trader contravenes any of the conditions specified above the permission granted in his favour shall be cancelled and his stocks would be seized and he shall be liable for prosecution . |
