BARAMULLA, Nov 6: Member Parliament and President, J&K Pradesh Congress Committee, Prof. Saif-ud-Din Soz and Minister for Health and Horticulture, Sham Lal Sharma jointly inaugurated newly constructed Primary Health Centre which came up at a cost of Rs. 1.80 crore at Delina Baramulla today.
The Health Centre will have both Indoor and Outdoor patient facilities benefitting around 10 villages of the vicinity.
Both the dignitaries later inspected construction work on Health Centre complex at Singhpora, Rs. 70 lakh have already been spent on the project and release of Rs. 45 lakh to be expended for the said Health Centre was announced by the Minister for Health on the occasion.
Addressing a public meeting on the occasion, Prof. Soz announced Rs. 2.50 lakh each out of his MPLAD for development of Shamshan Ghat for Sikhs and graveyard for Muslim community of the area. Minister for Health on this occasion announced establishment of four rural Medical Colleges in North and South Kashmir and Rajouri and Udhampur districts of Jammu division.
Sham announced digging up of 400 tube wells across the State for extending irrigation facilities to various orchards and for boosting horticulture sector.
Prof. Soz said that coalition Government is committed to facilitate the people, for which various developmental schemes have been launched, adding that people should also approach for redressal of their grievances.
Prof. Soz and Mr. Sham Lal later inspected new complex of District Hospital Baramulla, coming up at a cost of Rs. 60 crore. The Minister announced release of Rs. 4 crore for construction of the Hospital complex.
The people of the district appreciated the gesture and expressed their gratitude to the Government for releasing more funds.
The dignitaries were accompanied by Director Health Services, Kashmir, Dr. Saleem-ur-Rehman, Director Horticulture, Mohammad Saleem, Director Floriculture, Misri, Drug Controller, Satis Gupta, Chief Medical Officer, Baramulla, Block Medical Officer, Baramulla and other officers.
