| Nationalistic fervor rekindled along borders courtesy 'Sarhad Ko Parnam' | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Nov 23: 'Sarhad Ko Parnam'is the mission of the Forum For Integrated Security (FINS) aimed to keep the national integrity intact asserted Brig K S Kotwal, State President of FINS here today This unique programme, wherein the volunteers interacted with about 5,00,000 people and the youth tied 'Raksha Sutra'-a kind of commitment to come to rescue all over the country, was organised by Fourm for Integrated National Securtiy (FINS), Seema Jankalyan Samiti, Poorva Sainik Parishad and ABVP. Accompanied with Sanjeev Sharma, State General Secretary of Seema Jankalyan Samiti, Brig Kotwal in a joint Press Conference at Press Club said the forum received a good response during its programme organized in the name of 'Sarhad Ko Parnam'. "The unique programme is also aimed to make youth understand how the soldiers defend the borders at the cost of their lives and live in difficult conditions and was held from Nov 19-22 all across the nation, he asserted. Sharing the details of the programme, Brig Kotwal said, "About 10,000 youth of the country, in 600 districts and in 469 groups interacted with 50,000 people over the surface border of 15,106.7 kms of the country. And around 600 volunteers as a part of this nationwide programme interacted with approximately 50,000 people over the surface border areas comprising of about 250 villages in J&K state, he added. Speakers elaborating about this unique programme organized with a sole objective to strengthen the national integrity and emotional bond irrespective to religion and caste further said that youth lived in the houses of local people during this period, interacted with security men and soldiers to have first hand information about the problems faced by them. He said that it was the duty of the people to work for the unity and integrity of India to tell the international community that India is one. The youth by interacting with these daring people living on the border areas updated them with problems such as water scarcity, roads in the dilapidated conditions, worst health and education concerning facilities, agriculture related problems and prevailing unemployment etc. They also said it was an exclusive and rich experience for the volunteers who visited border belts under the "Sarhad ko Pranam" programme within nationalistic enthusiasm amid sloganeering like "Bharat Mata ki Jai, Vande Mataram and songs of pertaining to nationalism. "The volunteers meetings not only encouraged the border villages but also rejuvenated the sense of commitment and duty within the soldiers manning the bordering line under extremely difficult conditions, they added. |
