Jammu, Dec 23 : A youth allegedly attempted to rape in a teenage girl in city outskirts of this winter capital, police here said. "Gian Chand, 28, a driver by profession, late last night barged into the house of the victim and forcibly took her to the nearby jungle in Gharota area of city outskirts," police sources here today said. The teenager raised an alarm following which locals rushed to the spot. On seeing the villagers, the accused managed to escape. The girl this morning lodged a complaint with the police. "A case under Sections 376, 511 of RPC has been registered and manhunt is on to apprehend the accused," police added.
