| Valley tutorials become money minting centres | | Norms violated with impunity as authorities yawn | | Saahil Suhail Srinagar, Dec 23: Indif-ferent authorities have allowed private tutorials which have mushroomed across the Valley in last few years to admit students much beyond their intake capacity and pack them in classrooms in hundreds to make a quick buck. Private tuition centres in Southern district of Anant-nag, are violating all rules prescribed for them by the district administration in terms of accommodation, bathroom-toilet facilities as well as number of students to be admitted in a course and class. Noted tutorials like CIA , BFI, BCI and Usmania Coaching centre are packing over 200 students in single class room having capacity of not more than 60 students in a bid to make big money. "They are only concerned about their income. They charge huge fees from students and hire lesser number of teachers to cut out on expenditures", said a student. "I have approached them to make sections like we have in schools but they aren't paying any heed," Said one Aijaz Ahmad, a 12th class student outside CIA tuition centre, adding "two hundred students are packed in a room which cannot accommodate more than 80." Worse still, these tutorials are run in buildings which san basic amenities like enough toilets, light and also have no anti fire mechanism to meet any eventuality. Students also allege that they are forced by the school teachers to join these centres, saying that their half syllabus will be completed in those winter vacations. Additional Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Nisar Hussain Wani, when contacted assured strict action.
