| Delhi gang-rape incident condemned | | | early times report Udhampur, Dec 23: Principal NITL Higher Secondary School Udha-mpur Ajay Gupta today condemned gang rape incident of a 23-year-old-student in a moving bus in New Delhi. Demanding death penalty for the culprits, he appreciated the role of media, students and human rights activities for raising the voice against the gang-rape case. He appealed the students to keep patience and not to become violent during the protest for the justice. Gupta said that incident of gang rape is a heinous crime and to curve down such type of crimes the Constitution of India should be amended in such a way that such type of criminals should be hanged publicly. "In addition, it is prime duty of parents and teachers to bring up the new generation with moral based values so that their character, human behaviour and personality can be developed," he said and stressed on the need to sensitize everybody about the gender equality. He also said that the basic roots of all crimes are drug addiction, misuse of Internet and lenient attitude. Praying for the early recovery of the victim, who is battling for her life in a Delhi hospital, he condemned the police "brutality" against the peaceful youngsters, who are demanding justice. Meanwhile, former MLA of Chenani Prithvi Chand also condemned Delhi gang rape incident. In a statement he said, "Rape is a heinous crime and to curve down such type of crimes the constitution of India should be amended in such a way that such type of criminals should be hanged publicly." He also condemned the police action against youths protesting for the justice. |
