Jammu, Dec 30: The fact that new president of state unit of BJP is openly hobnobbing and cozying with NC leaders has not augured well with the cadres and workers in Kashmir valley who take these developments as antagonistic with the policy of party . Taking this as 'unpalatable' the Kashmir unit has started murmurs loaded with apprehensions that state chief's proximity with NC may mar their course of political programmes in future for this 'closeness 'is bound to come as a major hurdle in following anti government line of action, NC being the ruling party in the state.
Sources said while certain developments post Jugal Kishore's elevation has raised many a eyebrows in Jammu , in Kashmir too functionaries barring few, are disappointed to see the new state president showing inclination and more than willing postures to be a part of government sponsored functions, pre dominantly attended by NC leaders.
It is pertinent to mention that soon after taking over as president of the party, Jugal Kishore attended at least two major functions in which NC's top guns were chief guests. After declaration of his becoming the new president, Jugal attended a function in his constituency in which Ali Mohammad Sagar was the chief guest . Jugal was seen quite comfortable with NC leader in this function. It was followed by one more function on Friday in which he was seen enjoying a tractor ride with NC leader and more importantly the Political Advisor of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. While both these functions could have come as sheer coincidence , coinciding with the timing he became the president, but fingers are being raised more at what is being observed as his 'hobnobbing' postures with the NC top leaders.
For whatever reason, personal or political, these gestures are giving rise to all sorts of imaginations and speculations , which may or may not be unfounded as well. However, on the ground level, the workers and cadres, particularly from Kashmir valley are not too happy with Jugal Kishore's elevation to the coveted post, primarily for what is he himself exhibiting with a sense of pride , the closeness with NC top brass. Their main concern is that it might become a hurdle as new president would apparently hesitate in taking on NC as brazenly as they would take in the past , on issues related to people and for a host of reasons where government has failed.
