JAMMU, Jan 5: In order to review the arrangements made by the civil administration and other concerned agencies for upcoming Republic Day, 2013, Divisional Commissioner Jammu, Pradeep Gupta convened a high level meeting of senior officers of various departments at M.A. Stadium today .
The meeting was attended by IGP Jammu Zone, Dilbagh Singh, District Development Commissi-oner Jammu, Sanjeev Ver-ma, SSP, Jammu Prabhat Singh, Commandant JKAP 4th Battalion, Director Hospitality and Protocol, SSP, APCR, Additional DC Jammu, SE PWD, PDD, General Manager JKTDC, Assistant Settlement Offi-cer, Dy. Director Fisheries, Health Officer, Personal Officer from Director School Education, Col 26th Infantry, S. Mahni, Parade Commander, Col, Asish Rikhe, Let. Col. 26th Infantry, D. Bhatia, Dy. Director Health, Dy SP Security. Threadbare discussions were held regarding various issues pertaining to security, sanitation, uninterrupted power and water supply, face-lifting of M.A. Stadium, lighting arrangements, repair of approach roads, composition of march past, display of weapons and tableaus, illumination of government buildings, transport and traffic arrangements, medi-care, fire tenders and cultural programmes.
It was informed in the meeting that the rehearsals will start from 11th of January, 2013 and the full dress rehearsals will be held on 24th January, 2013. SSP Security would be the Nodal Officer for this national Event. Composition of March Past and band would be monitored by DIG, JKAP in coordination with Dy. Director Youth Services and Sports and Dy. Parade Commandant.
Divisional Commissioner directed the authorities to ensure proper and timely arrangement by putting in coordinated efforts for grand success of the event .He asked SE PDD to ensure generators as an alternate source of power in case of any emergency besides illumination of government buildings. He stressed to display tableaus on various aspects such as achievements of government, tableaus of traffic department to create awareness among the general masses and other departments to showcase their achievements and various schemes
Divisional Commissioner informed that a Control Room would be set up at M.A. Stadium where representatives of various departments would be available from 10 a m to 4 p.m.
Gupta called for massive participation in the national Event, adding that the day should be celebrated with patriotic zeal and enthusiasm. He said that the day marks the beginning of new chapter in the history of independent India and it is the moral responsibility of all the people to participate in large numbers.
