'Abhiyaan' organizes Dogr Folk festival

Jammu, Jan 5: Abhiyaan NGO in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, Govt of India, New Delhi organized a Dogri Folk Festival at Govt Hr Sec Boys, Bishnah today in which folk from various places of Jammu division participated.
On this occasion Ashvini Sharma, MLA Bishnah was the Chief Guest, while Khalid Hussain renowned writer was the Guest of Honour.
In the onset welcoming the Chief Guest and audience, Shiv Dutt, chairman, Abhiyaan NGO highlighted various cultural activities so far carried out by the organization. He informed that besides making local films based on regional languages, Abhiyaan revived the culture of Dogri Cuisine which the people had forgotten.
The artists namely Tilak Raj Tagotra, Bishan Das, Kalpana Kesar, Asha Keasr, Avtar, Nirmal Kaul, Om Prakash, Hans Raj, Madan Lal, Balkari & Students Siras School, Bishnah participated in this cultural programme. The programme was conducted by Diwakar Sharma. In this function a book exhibition was installed by Dogri Sanstha which was visited by large no. of people.
