| 2 houses gutted in Kishtwar | | |  early times report
Kishtwar, Jan 5: Two residential houses were gutted in a devastating fire incident on Saturday at Pranzal Sigdi 25 km from here.
Reports said the fire was caused due to short circuit inside the house of one Satpal which spread to the adjacent house of his brother Shambu Nath as a result of which the two stories of both the house internally connected with each other. A police party led by SHO Police Station Chatroo Farooq Ahmed Khateeb rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals and Army's 11-Rashtriya Rifles Battalion and prevented further loss.
Though the fire tenders from Kishtwar also rushed to the village, due to poor road conditions they got stuck midway. Later the employees of Fire Service reached the village by foot and joined the people in rescue operation which lasted for more than three hours. |
